Hindi daw kami marginalized sector ng society. Sabagay, hindi kami enumerated sa marginalized sectors according to the Constitution. Ang masakit dito, although society likes our company, the society tends to avoid our "more serious" issue. Sabi nga ni Brian kay Emmet sa Queer as Folk (about Emmet's blooming career as TV's "Queer Guy" ): "They love you because you are so cute. But you don't have the balls to show the real you."
Funny. When gay guys show their "balls" in public, everyone becomes a critic. Our long-standing issues are ignored, denied our very own existence.
What better way for gays and lesbians to have a representation in this nation is a seat in the Congress as a party-list member. Siyempre, ang tutulong lang sa mga katulad namin ay isang katulad namin.
