Biyernes

So nag-worry kami kung saan kami makikituloy that night. Kung meron man kasing available transient house, malamang tagain kami sa presyo.

11

Upper Scout Barrio

OK ang rate, same as doon sa tutuluyan sana namin sa Marcoville, P250 per head per day.

They naturally shine!

9

After the parade, sumadya kami sa SM Baguio for lunch, pero super dami ng tao.

Hmm. Ire-research ko yan.

Naglibot lang kami sa Burnham Park after. Ang daming tao talaga, parang Holy Week! Siksikan talaga.

Sobrang hirap sumakay at trapik pa.

By 7 PM na kami nakarating kina Ate Fe.

Linggo

Medyo maaga kaming gumising kasi plano naming magsimba sa Baguio Cathedral (Our Lady of the Atonement).

Ung first time sa simbahan sa may PUP-Sta Mesa.

b

Naghihintay sa parada

8 AM at di pa nagsimula ang parada. Wala na kaming mapuwestuhang maganda ni Kuyatot. At andaming me payong.

c g

Kapamilya at Kapuso

Me mga artista kasi. Ang guwapo ni Gerald Anderson! Haha! Haha!

v

Melanie Marquez, ambassador of beauty

Binalak naming mag-Mines View pero maulan at matrapik. Naglibot na lang kami sa SM Baguio. Nag-bet pa kami kung me Book Sale doon. At meron nga! Haha! Haha!

i s

Tremendous!

h

Victory Liner Terminal, PNR

d s

Lunes

a

Medyo malayo pala ang Brgy. San Antonio.

Funny girl, at totoong may ambisyon.

Big Lover
posted by GHV2 on March 3, 2008 at 04:53 AM

Last night, Kuyatot and I saw My Big Love starring Sam Milby, Toni Gonzaga. and Kristine Hermosa.

q

At kahit sabihin ng iba na hindi wonderful ang movie, it still drew a lot of laughter from the audience. I don't think na it was offensive for big people (like me now), but it made fun out of the truth PLUs need to face everyday.

h

1. Set a goal.

2. Start today.

3. No shortcuts.

4. Be motivated. Be inspired.

5. Be happy.

Haha, talagang detalyado e. In fairness, bagay sila ng bride-to-be.

Isa siya sa mga crush ko. Nung nag-sideline ako as PA sa isang fashion show, natanggap siya as one of the models. Sayang at nag-back out siya.

Kuyatot and I met Xam last night.

As usual, poetry, movies, at lovelife ang kuwentuhan. Sila ni Kuyatot, nagkuwentuhan about the clan.

Nagparinig tuloy ako ke Kuyatot: I want something like that. Haha.

Summer Memories
posted by GHV2 on March 17, 2008 at 04:50 AM

Well not completely, kasi I'm expecting the holiday pay sa Huwebes at Biyernes. But that means I won't be going to Pandi for a break. Hay.

I'm wishing for a day-off na matatapat sa weekend. Plano naming magpunta ni Kuyatot sa Pangasinan, kahit for the weekend lang. I miss the beach! Kahit hindi ako marunong lumangoy, I just want to feel the hampas of the alon sa aking katawan.

a

Mommy with Kuya Jayson and cousins

d

Cousin Ruth, Fhariza, Margie Lyn holding pamangkin Richard, and Marigie.

Nakakapangilabot!

Ito ang tipikal na summer ko dati. But we grew up na, at we need to pay the full fare sa bus.

The guy was not a saint, at sobra ang pressure na ibinigay niya sa amin while we were his tenants.

Malamang palayasin sila.

Rest in peace, Tata Impen.

The Embrace

You weren't well or really ill yet either;

just a little tired, your handsomeness

tinged by grief or anticipation, which brought

to your face a thoughtful, deepening grace.

I didn't for a moment doubt you were dead.

I knew that to be true still, even in the dream.

You'd been out--at work maybe?--

having a good day, almost energetic.

We seemed to be moving from some old house

where we'd lived, boxes everywhere, things

in disarray: that was the story of my dream,

but even asleep I was shocked out of the narrative

by your face, the physical fact of your face:

inches from mine, smooth-shaven, loving, alert.

Why so difficult, remembering the actual look

of you? Without a photograph, without strain?

So when I saw your unguarded, reliable face,

your unmistakable gaze opening all the warmth

and clarity of you--warm brown tea--we held

each other for the time the dream allowed.

Bless you. You came back, so I could see you

once more, plainly, so I could rest against you

without thinking this happiness lessened anything,

without thinking you were alive again.

Prayer

Over a dock railing, I watch the minnows, thousands, swirl

themselves, each a minuscule muscle, but also, without the

way to create current, making of their unison (turning, re-

infolding,

entering and exiting their own unison in unison) making of themselves a

visual current, one that cannot freight or sway by

minutest fractions the water's downdrafts and upswirls, the

dockside cycles of finally-arriving boat-wakes, there where

they hit deeper resistance, water that seems to burst into

itself (it has those layers) a real current though mostly

invisible sending into the visible (minnows) arrowing

motion that forces change--

this is freedom. This is the force of faith. Nobody gets

what they want. Never again are you the same. The longing

is to be pure. What you get is to be changed. More and more by

each glistening minute, through which infinity threads itself,

also oblivion, of course, the aftershocks of something

at sea. Here, hands full of sand, letting it sift through

in the wind, I look in and say take this, this is

what I have saved, take this, hurry. And if I listen

now? Listen, I was not saying anything. It was only

something I did. I could not choose words. I am free to go.

I cannot of course come back. Not to this. Never.

It is a ghost posed on my lips. Here: never.

Easter!
posted by GHV2 on March 23, 2008 at 09:29 AM

Happy Easter!

Binalikan ko tuloy ang Mary Magdalen: The Essential History ni Susan Haskins. It discussed the importance of the Magdalene in Jesus Christ's resurrection:

"Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.

And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept.

And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not." (Mark 16:9-11)

a

The book tagged the Magdalene as the "Companion of the Savior" and the "Apostola Apostolorum". It highlighted her major role in Jesus Christ's works. Haskins debunked the stories that the Mary of Magdala is the prostitute, the woman with the seven devils, the Samaritan woman by the well, and being Mary, the sister of Martha and Lazarus.

"They followed him, and ministered unto him."

Meet the housemates of "Pinoy Big Brother" Teen Edition Plus

Frances Mendiola

Monday, March 24, 2008
09:31 PM

Easter Sunday, March 23, marked a new season of the reality show, Pinoy Big Brother. Fourteen teen housemates will challenge themselves by spending their summer inside Big Brother's house, away from their friends and family members.

In Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus, Luis Manzano and Toni Gonzaga will grace television screens weeknights for the primetime edition. Their fellow hosts Mariel Rodriguez and Bianca Gonzalez will be seen on PBB Teen Edition Plus Uber and PBB Teen Edition Plus Update, respectively.

But why did they name it "Plus" unlike the other editions labeled as "Season 2"? For starters, Luis Manzano is added as an official PBB host, which means he will be reporting on PBB regularly. He was previously seen on PBB Celebrity Edition as a live show co-host.

Another plus factor of the show is the addition of two more teen housemates to the 12 tenants of this edition. Capitalizing on the rivalry between Ateneo and La Salle, two housemates came from these competing schools and are expected to generate intense competition inside the house.

The third plus factor revealed last night is the secret room that contains a sala set, bedrooms for males and females and even a spa. But who will occupy this secret room? Only Big Brother can tell.

Last night's festivities started with an explosive dance number from former PBB housemates Kim Chiu, Mikee Lee, Gerald Anderson, Riza Santos, Will Devaughn, Gee-Ann Abrahan, and Mickey Perz. Adding to the spectacle were fireworks that lit up the night sky and colorful confetti that heralded the start of the new season of PBB.

The prizes offered for the winners include a laptop, an LCD TV set, a kitchen showcase, a water business franchise, a condominium, and cash reaching up to P1 million.

Thirty potential teen housemates from different parts of the country, as well as from Filipino communities abroad, were given Dream Keys by Big Brother. However, only twelve teens (plus two more) actually moved inside the house after a final round of housemate selection in Manila. For this season, "Kabataang Pinoy" by Itchyworms is used as the theme song of the show.

Here are the teen housemates of PBB Teen Edition Plus (in order of appearance):

EJAY, 18 years old, the Promdi Hottie of Mindoro

The mestizo looking Ejay prefers to lead a simple life. To help his father, he raises animals and plants vegetables for food. Strong-willed yet humble, Ejay admits that he did not know how to use a cell phone, computer and the elevator when he first arrived in Manila. Ejay's mother left them for another man to live in Metro Manila. As a teen housemate, would he fulfill his dream of reuniting his family once again?

An avid tree climber, this teen housemate wowed the audience when he swooshed down to the PBB stage using a "baging" or vine.

KEVIN, 18 years old, the Spanish Stallion of Madrid

This "global gwaping" is the offspring of a Spanish woman and a Filipino man, but they eventually separated. Kevin is fond of horses and in order to continue being an equestrian, he started working at an early age. Since this is his first time to come to the Philippines, how will he handle being with his fellow housemates? When he arrived onstage, the topless Kevin boarded a surf board but would he be able to surf his way to Filipino viewers' hearts?

NICOLE, 17 years old, the In-chick of Cebu

Another chinita from Cebu has made her way into Kuya's house. As the eldest child of her family, Nicole is characterized as a simple, shy and timid girl. She only has a few friends but her brothers love her happy disposition in life. This Fil-Chinese beauty has just graduated from high school and aims to make more friends by joining PBB. Will she be able to accomplish Big Brother's tasks and achieve her own personal goals? Will she follow the footsteps of former Big Winner Kim Chiu?

LINDA, 16 years old, the Bikini Babe of Iriga

This half-Swedish Bicolana is truly her mother's pride and joy. Linda often joins bikini open contests and dreams of becoming an actress to further help her family. She is a product of a broken family-her Swedish father left them, prompting Linda to take on the responsibility of sending her brother to school. Will she be able to attract talent scouts with her abilities and be the next big winner?

NAN, 17 years old, Junior Kengkoy of Davao

He doesn't like to take life seriously, which is why he often cracks jokes and is dubbed as Mr. Smiley because of his bright smile. Nan, a self-confessed Mama's boy, gets angry and easily flares up whenever someone tries to insult his mother. He admits that he has had two girlfriends in the past. Nan entered Big Brother's house dressed as a pirate like Captain Jack Sparrow. Is the Junior Kengkoy of Davao ready to take on Kuya's tasks inside the house? Like Davao comedian Ruben Gonzaga of PBB Celebrity Edition 2, can Nan become this season's Big Winner?

ALEX, 18 years old, Italian Valentino of Milan

Alex's Italian father is currently unemployed and his Filipino mother, a domestic helper, is the sole bread winner of the family. Alex is a soccer player and only asks for soccer shoes as gifts. Now that he has relocated to the Philippines, he plans to find his luck among his countrymen. Would he be able to conquer Big Brother's challenges and show that he is a true team player? Alex entered the premises as a rock climber, complete with a hard hat.

RONA, 16 years old, the Prisoner's Daughter of Dumaguete

Rona is an honor student and sometimes competes in beauty pageants. She is obviously an achiever but despite her seemingly perfect life, Rona has had to live with the stigma of having a father who has been in jail for four years already. She is still hoping and praying for the release of her father. Rona sees this as a challenge from God and knows that she will become a stronger person because of this setback.

JERIEL, 16 years old, the Bubbly Girl of Davao

Jeriel proved to have enough discipline to trim down to a sexy figure from being a chubby chick. She continued being a bubbly girl despite being left by her biological father. Her stepdad treated her as one of his own. As a teepee rose from the stage, it revealed Jeriel dressed as an Indian princess waving and beaming with joy. Would her infectious smile spread cheer inside the PBB house?

JOLAS, 18 years old, the Gentle Giant of Bulacan

Towering at 6 feet 4 inches, this former FEU Tamaraw dreams of becoming a professional basketball player. He shares this dream with his father, whom he considers as his best friend. However, Jolas encountered some problems with his basketball teammates, forcing him to leave the team. He also got involved in an accident that proved to be detrimental to his basketball career. Can Jolas find a new career in showbiz?

BEAUTY, 16 years old, the Rebellious Beauty of Dumaguete

This feisty girl intimidates everyone around her and she is used to everything being served in a silver platter. Beauty wants to prove to everyone that she can change and learn how to be a good girl. Would she successfully learn to be follow the rules or do we see another Wendy Valdez in the making?

VALERIE, 18 years old, the Dazzling Girl of Germany

This half-German girl is a Pinay in most of her ways. She was very close to her father and when he died, she could hardly accept his death. Now, Valerie wants to develop a close relationship to her Filipino mother. She also wants to find her long-lost brother who was accidentally left here in the Philippines. Dressed as a sailor, Valerie showed her proficiency in Tagalog and expressed her desire to be an actress.

PRISCILLA, 17 years old, the Deaf Dreamer of Davao

Priscilla is a teenager who follows the latest trends and loves to go partying. She lives a normal life despite being deaf for most of her life. She was able to overcome her disability and was even crowned as Ms. Teen Mindanao 2007 and became the 1st runner-up in Ms. Teen Philippines. When she was six years old, she had to cope with the trauma of knowing that her father was assassinated. Through lip-reading, she is able to communicate with the people around them. Would she be able to communicate with her fellow housemates and gain the sympathy of her fellow housemates?

ROBI, 18 years old, the True Blue Atenista of QC

An honor student and an obedient son, Robi is hailed as a good role model for Ateneans. However, Robi needs some help when it comes to having a love life. He has never had a girlfriend and is unlucky in courtship.

JOSEF, 16 years old, the Lethal La Sallite of Mandaluyong

Josef is an average student who has been exposed to the real world at an early age. He knows the value of a good education but also knows that real-life experiences are as priceless. Stubborn, rebellious and a stud, this La Sallite is a chick-magnet because of his bad boy attitude.

Would the intense school rivalry of the two PLUS housemates get in the way of their camaraderie and hinder them from completing their weekly tasks?

This reality show has spawned the successful showbiz careers of former housemates, including teen stars Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, Matt Evans, Mikee Lee, and Aldred Gatchalian. Tune in everyday to find out who will be the next Big Winner of Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus.

Fresh na fresh na dreams ko kaninang madaling-araw: I have a new job bilang assistant ng isang mala-Miranda Priestly na boss, I won as councilor/congressman sa lugar namin, and then I fought with this monster dog na pag-aari ng kapitbahay namin.

d

from Rotten Tomatoes

Ung new work ko, isang araw ko lang sinipot. Grabe ung orders ng new boss ko. Haha. But I think kaya hindi ako sumipot sa next day ng work ko kasi I'm still employed sa current job ko sa HTMT. At the end pf the dream, I was contemplating na lilipat na talaga ako sa new job ko, kahit mababa ang pasahod. The last scene of this dream, I was texting a senior staff if may pasok next time, etc.

f

Ung congressman/councilor issue, wala lang. I received a notification na yes, I won the elections. Ung sobre na na-receive ko, nandun ang ID ko with an outrageous photo (kinuhanan lang using cel).

g

from Deviant Art

The dog, well, was owned by my family's previous landlord. In the dream, I was arguing with my ADD kapitbahay (peste, they still haunt me!), and then this monster dog just chased me. Somehow, we defeated the monster dog this way.

Then I woke up. 4:30 AM.

Joseph, anyone?

***

Nagpagupit pala ako kagabi. The usual semi-kal. Me kuwento ang pagpapagupit ko ng ganito.

j y w

Me lahi kasi kami na kalbo. Kalbong lolo, kalbong tatay, kalbong nakatatandang kapatid.

One time, me sideline ako sa Makati para sa isang ad agency. Ang client nila, people from Rustan's. Me isang guy from Rustan's, gay cutie siya. Medyo type ko, glasses and all. Nerdy type at pa-sosyal. Baka friendly lang, but I took it seriously. Feeling ko type niya din ako.

I told my friend/ka-sideline about this guy. He told me na huwag daw magpaka-feeling. Panget daw ako para mapansin nung guy.

I was hurt. Sobra. Super nega ang confidence level. Sadsad to the max. I know I'm not good-looking, pero...

I wore glasses. I barely smiled. Ayun.

Funny, baligtad ang mga nangyari. The Rustan's people noticed me. Haha. Ung mga girl, kinausap nila ako. Bumagay daw ung semikal look. The Rustan's guy always smiled at me, binabati na ako (dati kasi hindi, hanggang smile lang siya).

Then the big night. Ung event na sa poolside ng hotel. Dahil isa ako sa production people, I wore black shirt and pants. Nasa side lang ako, nagbabantay. It was a cocktail party after the show. The Rustan's guy approached me, and asked me kung bakit nasa side lang ako. He wanted me to join him sa party. But I refused, thinking na ang pangit ng get-up ko and yes, I didn't belong sa crowd.

Hehe. The real deal is this: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I still believe na yes, pangit nga ako. But please, talk to me, better na kilalanin mo ako before you judge me.

I'm telling you, there is more than just my physical attributes.

***

A super close friend is asking me to learn Warcraft. Para makapaglaro na kami pag day-off. Kaya lang, mukha siyang kumplikado. Di kasi ako gamer talaga.

Sa Ayat Resort

Sadyang ipinipilit ang hapdi.

Humigpit lalo ang kapit

Sa katawang nag-iinit at dumudulas

Sa pawis. Pinili naming gawin

Sa buhanginan, isang araw

Ng Mayo, kalat na kalat

Ang dilim.

Sa mga halik na nagpapalimot

At mga haplos ng pagsuyo,

Isang paghulo: sa mga naunang

Humantong sa ganitong pagkakataon,

Ilan ang hindi natakot

Sa matitinding daluyong,

Sa madidilim at makakapal na ulap,

Sa gaspang ng buhanging

Makasusugat sa balat.

Dalawa kaming lalaking

Kay higpit ang pagkakakapit

Sa isa’t isa,

Manghang-mangha

Sa nasumpungang dagat

Sa kaniya-kaniyang mga mata.

Wheel of Fortune

First time ko itong mag-audition sa isang TV show, sa isang game show. Katuwaan na lang din. Tutal, wala nga naman daw mawawala...

a

Haha.

g

They verified the text message I received from them, filled out info sheets.

f

After the exam, pinaghintay kami sa resulta. Isa-isa na kaming nalalagas.

d

Luckily, I passed.

The audition masters gave us one hour para makapag-lunch. Pinapila kami ni Borja, the event marshall assigned sa batch namin.

f

d

Bonding time para sa aming mga contestant. I sat beside Ate Tess and Kuya Mario. Konting kuwentuhan.

Chance ko na din mag-picture-picture sa ABS-CBN compound. Hehe.

2f ee e yr

I reminded myself na I have to act normal. Be the real me.

r

But I guessed that gave me the chance na ilabas ang pagkakenkoy ko.

r

And yes, I passed the interview. (Ipinagdasal daw ako ni Kuyatot kay Sto. Domingo.)

All Good Things

Mandy Moore

All good things...
All good things...
All good things...

Not sure where to go
Everybody I know
Says I'm too forgiving
And now that I'm gone
I don't wanna move on
I just keep reliving

All good things
I wish you
All good things

Come to an end
All good things
I wish you well

Lost inside of my head
Empty side of the bed
I feel this place without you
I keep pushing the blues
'Cause I know I don't wanna lose
What I loved about you

All good things
I wish you
All good things
Come to an end
All good things

I wish you well

I can think of a million ways
You proved you weren't the one
So live inside of your shades of gray
And never mind the sunshine
That I'll find...

I got so much space now
I've got a whole house
With the wind blowin' through
It's only somewhere to hide
I've got this whole world inside
I was accustomed to showing you

All good things
I wish you
All good things
Come to an end
All good things
I wish you well

Oh

All good things...
Oh oh
All good things
Oh oh, oh oh
All good things...
Oh I wish you well...
